It has the benefit of a heated playroom in the basement,
with satellite TV, table football, drawing equipment and games. The chalet can sleep up to 21 adults in 8 bedrooms,
consisting of en suite double/twin bedrooms and family suites with two bedrooms sharing a bathroom.
All double rooms can accommodate a cot, and children are very welcome at Chalet Christiane. There is a large garden
with a swing to burn off any energy left after skiing
Catering is a hearty breakfast, afternoon tea and a four course dinner with wine or soft drinks. Your hosts will
take one evening off per week, but will be able to recommend a local restaurant for dinner on that night, so that
you can sample local fare.
Children are welcome at Chalet Christiane and early suppers are at 6.30 pm - these are two courses and the owners
are happy to discuss likes and dislikes and to try to accommodate them!
If you prefer your children to eat dinner, with you at around 8.00 pm, there is a supplement of 60 euros per week,
per child. The menu will be the same as the adults, minus the wine! If children prefer to eat with their parents,
we ask that they are well-behaved out of respect to other guests.
CHALET LAYOUT
- 8 bedrooms, 4 bathrooms, sleeps 2-21 people
- Bedroom 1- Largest bedroom, 2 bunks, connecting to
- Bedroom 2 - Double room, which with Bedroom 1, is suitable
for family of 6. These 2 rooms share a bath/shower room with WC
- Bedroom 3 – Bunk beds, possibility of another single
if required.
- Bedroom 4 – Double room. These 2 bedrooms have private
access to their own bath room with bath and handbasin, with separate WC with handbasin.
- Bedroom 5 – Bunk and a single (only exit is through
bedroom 6)
- Bedroom 6 – Double Room
- These 2 bedrooms share a shower room with WC, en suite
to bedroom 6
- Bedroom 7 – Double Room connecting to
- Bedroom 8 with 2 bunks.
- These 2 rooms share a bathroom with WC, en suite to
bedroom 7.
- There is also a ground floor WC
Chalet Christiane’s owners are very flexible and can
offer flexible changeover days as one of their strengths. Other than New Year, Feb Half term and possibly Easter
school holidays when changeover is fixed to a weekend, with a minimum stay of a week, they are as flexible as possible
with start and end days. The owners can also offer B & B or self-catered dependent on existing bookings. Both
chalets offer a warm welcome to families, with family suites and rooms, as well as playrooms with lots of activities
to enjoy. Children’s early supper can be arranged. Like most catered chalets, Chalet Joanne does have one night
off, but are happy to advise local restaurants you can try.
Most importantly, we recognise that family skiing
holidays can be expensive and are happy to advise that both chalets offer excellent value and very
good child prices. Please ask us for details of child discounts.
St Jean D’Aulps is part of the world-renowned Portes du Soleil (Doors to the Sun) – which, with 650km of skiing,
is one of the largest ski areas in the world, if not the largest. St Jean is a gem between Les Gets and Morzine
but has it’s own ski area at Grande Terche. This makes it an excellent alternative to the larger, busier resorts
nearby, and offers 35km of skiing on green, blue and red pistes.
