Les Chalets Edelweiss is a new complex in the centre of Plagne 1800, just 20m from the slopes (ski in / ski out) and the ESF ski school. These ideally situated chalet-style residences have been divided into 83 apartments giving guests the choice of a range of differently sized studios and apartments, some of which have been adapted for disabled visitors.

Facilities at Les Chalets Edelweiss include a communal lounge with fireplace which is always a welcome sight after a long day skiing, particularly in the higher resorts, pool table, bakery service, WiFi in the reception area, laundry room and ski lockers (some services are payable locally, so please ask for details. The residence also offers a sauna and steam room - perfect for easing those aching muscles - and guests are offered one free session pper apartment, per week (€8/session, €39 for 7 sessions). Mis-stay cleaning is also possible on request.

All Accommodation: kitchenette with ceramic hob, microwave and dishwasher, balcony or terrace for most apartments.

As one for the leading winter sports domaines, the local ski area of 'Grande Plagne' offers 225km of pistes and is highly rates for all levels of skiers. With a choice of resorts and now the link to Les Arcs, the domaine has been extended as is now known as Paradiski. The new Vanoise Express cable car gives access to Paradiski which with over 450kms of runs, skiers can cover a huge amount of terrain without having to repeat the same runs over and over again.

La Plagne is split into 4 main ski villages of which Plagne 1800 is one. Plagne 1800 is a more traditional looking village with a greater number of chalet style buildings and is considered an excellent family resort with access to some of the best skiing. It has a warm and friendly atmosphere, great bars and restaurants and has a number of ski shops. The high altitude offers good snow coverage and there are even two skiable glaciers (La Chaupe in La Plagne Bellecote which extends to 3250m, and Le Varet in Les Arcs), as well as some of the highest peaks, 5 snowparks and 128km of cross country trails.

La Plagne is equally suited to non-skiers, or those looking for a more varied winter holiday, and guests can indulge in 'balade en raquettes' (snow shoes), cross country skiing, paragliding, dog-sledging, swimming and well-being. There is also a cinema as well as a good range of restaurants, shops and nightclubs if you are looking for spme après-ski entertainment.
