'The village of Samoens has been classified by Unesco & deserves its label; it is very picturesque! We were also lucky enough to experience the street market on Wednesday where we spent rather more that we had anticipated and I even got to pet a baby pig! When we arrived at Les Fermes de Samoens I was pleased that they blended into the scenery as they are designed as big Alpine Chalets, devided into apartments. They have been traditionally decorated in wooden furniture & are very cosy, plus they all have a large balcony with nice views of snowy mountains. Although the complex is a little bit away from the village centre and a short distance from the cable car, there is a free ski bus which stops literally just outside the residence. For those who need to be in contact with work, the reception as a free wi-fi access & in the salon you can have(free) hot & cold drinks without returning to your apartment which was a great bonus for us. The residence is surrounded by spacious gardens so I can imagine that in the summer you can relax in the sun or go to the outdoor pool, but it was a bit chilly to take advantage of the outside whilst we were there, so we were pleased to find the indoor heated pool and sauna/jacuzzi.
