Chalets du Galibier is a lovely, recently built residence made up of 2 groups of 5 traditional-style chalets (with lift). We have a good range of apartments in this residence, which is located at the foot of the slopes (ski back to door), 200m maximum from the ski-lifts and 1km from the resort centre (free shuttle bus to resort centre departs from outside the residence). There are two indoor swimming pools - one in each building which are free for guests. Facilities: Communal lounge with open fire, tea & coffee-making facility, left luggage room (great if you arrive early, or have a late flight home). Two indoor swimming pools, covered parking (extra charge). Free cable TV. Pets welcome (extra charge). Loan of cots and high chairs for children under 2 (subject to availability, state at time of booking). Upstairs: twin bedroom, alcove with 2 single beds, bathroom. The lovely, traditional village of Valloire is situated in the Galibier Pass, a natural frontier between the Northern and Southern Alps, and well-known as part of the Tour de France route. With it's many traditional shops and family-run restaurants, Valloire offers a real flavour of the Alps, and a friendly, welcoming atmosphere. There are 150km of ski runs, ranging from 1430m to 2600m and offering great skiing for all levels. The 400 snow cannons assure excellent conditions from December to April. Non-skiers can enjoy guided tours of the Baroque churches, or walks, dog-sledding, snow-shoeing, horse-drawn sleigh rides, ice skating or simply relaxing in the beautiful village. There are bars and cafes, as well as a nightclub and restaurants. There is also a fitness centre with Spa facilities.
