Chalet Joanne is close to the historic L’Abbaye de St Jean and was once the mill for the Abbaye (Abbey). This is a quiet location, but only about 7 minutes walk to the village centre and family friendly ski resort of St Jean d'Aulps. The chalet has been extensively renovated by it’s owners and offers bright, comfortable and modern surroundings. There is a playroom with TV/DVD and Playstation, a sofa and beanbags – a great retreat for the children whilst adults enjoy dinner in the dining room below. The open plan lounge and dining room benefits from a log fire, and French doors open onto the balcony which has lovely views of the mountains. Chalet Joanne has 5 guest bedrooms, all en suite and sleeps 12 in comfort, but can accommodate 14. Each bedroom has a TV/DVD and there is a large library of DVDs in the chalet, which guests are welcome to borrow during their stay. There is also a computer and broadband access in case clients need to keep in touch with work. Catering is a hearty breakfast, afternoon tea and a home-cooked two course dinner with wine and soft drinks is served in the welcoming dining room, with lovely views out to the surrounding mountains. There are French doors out to the balcony. Children can eat with their parents, but are asked to be well-behaved out of respect to other guests. It is possible to arrange children’s early suppers, if preferred, and this will be a version of the adult dinner. If baby food is required, parents are asked to provide it, but heating facilities are available. Like most catered chalets, Chalet Joanne does have one night off, but are happy to advise local restaurants you can try. This room can accommodate a childrens cot. Hallway with stairs to Playroom - Large area (30sqm) with Television, Playstation and other games. Bedroom 3 (sleeps 2) Two Singles beds (or one double). Outside There is a balcony around the chalet with beautiful views. Space to park 2 cars Chalet Joanne may also be available as a self-catered property in the winter season, dependent on existing bookings. It is available self-catered in the summer. As well as the main chalet, we are pleased to be able to offer a studio and a separate apartment. STUDIO The Studio is a 32sqm accommodation unit that comprises of: Entrance to main living space with kitchenette and sleeping area. The living space has a small table and chairs and clik-clak sofa bed it also has bar stools to the adjoining kitchenette. The sleeping area has a double bed and two open wardrobes. There is also a shower room with toilet and basin. The Studio apartment also has television (basic sky channels) and a DVD player. GROUND FLOOR FLAT The Ground Floor Flat is a 72sqm accommodation unit that comprises of: Entrance is at the front of the main building leading to: Kitchen/Dining area, hall to: Open Plan living area with sofa and a clik-clak sofa - door to WC and door to Double/Twin bedroom. The kitchen also leads to Hallway with storage area and door to large wet-room with shower and wash basin. The Ground Floor Flat apartment also has television (basic sky channels) and a DVD player. . St Jean D’Aulps is part of the world-renowned Portes du Soleil (Doors to the Sun) – which, with 650km of skiing, is one of the largest ski areas in the world, if not the largest. St Jean is a gem between Les Gets and Morzine but has it’s own ski area at Grande Terche. This makes it an excellent alternative to the larger, busier resorts nearby, and offers 35km of skiing on green, blue and red pistes. Both chalets offer a warm welcome to families, with family suites and rooms, as well as playrooms with lots of activities to enjoy. Children’s early supper can be arranged. Most importantly, we recognise that family skiing holidays can be expensive and are happy to advise that both chalets offer excellent value and very good child prices.
