Chalet Marie is a traditional Savoyard chalet which was
recently modernised, while retaining its original charm, and offers a fantastic warm and comfortable base for a
multitude of activities throughout the year. It nestles in a quiet hamlet only 1km from the pretty village of Samoëns
and has magnificent views of the Giffre Valley. It is ideally located 800m from each of the lifts and is on the
free ski bus route.
The warm, comfy and spacious sitting/dining room has an impressive log burning fire. Here you can relax with afternoon
tea, then an aperitif and canapés before enjoying a wonderful home cooked dinner, and whiling away the rest
of the evening in the company of your fellow guests. French windows lead on to a generous balcony stretching round
most of the building and from here you can enjoy magnificent views of the Giffre Valley and surrounding mountains.
There is a separate TV room (satellite television) and a plentiful supply of books, videos and DVDs for guests
to use. The chalet is WiFi enabled. The bedrooms with their large beds and ensuite facilities have toiletries and
a hairdryer provided. The sauna suite provides a great opportunity to soothe aching muscles and the games room
can be used to keep fit or as a play area for children.

The large garden provides a great play area for children, and in
late spring, a circular, five and a half metre pool is set up. There is parking for up to 8 cars.
The chalet is operated by the owner, a professional chef with 16 years experience in the Hospitality and Ski chalet
business and is noted for the high standard of cuisine. She is happy to cater for any special dietary needs, and
early supper is available for young children. Menus draw on British, French and International dishes and can be
adapted to meet guests' tastes. Dinner is offered on 6 nights out of 7, allowing guests to sample local restaurants.
Advice and help is offered with transfers, ski passes, equipment hire, ski school and crèche requirements.
Samoëns (winner of the 2009 Best Small Resort in Hardy's
Skiing and Snowboarding Guide) is a lovely village, situated
in the magnificent Giffre Valley of Haute Savoie. It is the only ski resort in France to be listed as 'Monument
Historique' and retains the qualities of a real French village. Much has been done to make it an attractive holiday
place without destroying its very important historical and cultural features. The Grand Massif (which also includes
Flaine, Le Carroz, Morillon and Sixt Fer à Cheval) offers 265km of pisted runs as well as a vast off-piste
area with terrain to match all abilities.
