It offers fantastic skiing in it's own right, but together with La Plagne, is part of the Paradiski domain - 425km in total. Plenty to offer all levels of skier. Whilst not being overburdened with alpine charm, Arc 1600 IS extremely convenient for skiing, with most accommodation ski in/out. The lift system is very efficient and well thought out, offering smooth transport from the base villages, to the rest of the domain. 1600 is the quietest of the Les Arcs resorts, offering a relaxed atmosphere for families or groups not looking for wild nightlife. The pedestrian centre is compact and has children's ski area and kindergarten, taking infants from 4 months. There is a shuttle bus for the short trip to Arcs 1800 and the villages above, and the funicular takes guests to and from Bourg St Maurice - a charming Savoyarde town with traditional shops, restaurants and a weekly market - in just 7 minutes. Other activities to enjoy whilst skiing in Arc 1600 include snow-shoeing, snow-mobiling, ice-skating, bowling and swimming. The more adventurous can try out the Olympic tracks in the area, the speed skating rink in Les Arcs and the bob-sleigh track in La Plagne.
